Pastoral Care, Nurture and Partnership

At Lochinver House, pastoral care is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that social development and emotional wellbeing are fundamental to academic success.

Our goal is to ensure that all pupils feel that they belong, have good self-esteem, and are empowered to flourish in a supportive and caring environment.

We understand that the world can be unpredictable, and we know that a strong pastoral support system is essential in helping children navigate the challenges they face. By focusing on nurturing the physical, emotional, and mental welfare of each child, we create a foundation where academic success can be built, and personal growth can thrive.

Our whole-school nurturing approach helps students to grow and develop into confident, resilient, and well-rounded individuals. We understand the importance of supporting social, emotional, and mental health as the groundwork for success both in school and beyond.

We also recognise the vital role that parents play in the development and well-being of their children. Parental involvement in a child’s learning and emotional growth has a significant impact on achievement and behaviour. At Lochinver House, we are committed to working in partnership with families to support the well-being of our pupils.

To further support parents on their journey, we provide access to Tooled Up Education, a unique resource that offers evidence-based advice, tips, videos, and podcasts on all matters relating to parenting, family life, and children’s development.  Curated by Dr. Kathy Weston, one of the UK’s leading experts in parental engagement, this resource gives parents practical tools and strategies to help their children thrive.

As a Tooled Up parent, you will:

  • Feel supported on your parenting journey
  • Access expert advice and tips to help your child reach their full potential
  • Have the opportunity to ask questions and get answers backed by high-quality research evidence

Every parent receives log-in details to access this invaluable digital library, ensuring you have the support you need to help your child flourish.
