We finally set off to Durban, the highlight of which was our third fixture against Curro Hillcrest Christian academy. A hard fought and physical encounter saw LHS emerge 24-19 winners. A tremendous effort from all involved. Whilst in Durban, we also enjoyed a day at the water park and the boys were able to snorkel with a range of fish. On Sunday, we headed to Hluhluwe Game Reserve. We enjoyed two absolutely stunning Game Drives. One in the evening and one bright and early for sunrise. We were in awe of the wildlife we saw. Our second stop on our rugby tour to South Africa saw us fly into Durban. From there we drove up to St Lucia, whilst there the boys were able to enjoy the pool and we took a boat tour to see the Hippos and the Crocs. We were extremely lucky to see both very close up! #SouthAfrica #rugbytour #LHSontour

Our final day in Cape Town, saw us visit @gardeniaprimary a school in which due to the fundraising efforts of Mr Norton we were able to donate over £10,000. The generosity of the Lochinver community, has meant that Gardenia have been able to install their first ever grass sports field, which Mr Norton and our tour captain cut the ribbon for. The boys played Gardenia in a close fought match with Lochinver emerging victorious. After the match, our hosts treated us to a traditional South African braai which was delicious. Our last evening in Cape Town, saw us enjoy a variety of South African game meat at Mama Africas. Let’s see what Durban has to offer. #LHSontour #SouthAfrica #rugby

Some of the boys even tried their hands at it. We played our first game of bare foot rugby, it was a close fought game that ended in a last play loss. All the boys did themselves and LHS proud. #rugbytour #LHSontour #SouthAfrica

Highlights from the Year 3 trip to the @roalddahlmuseum in Great Missenden! The pupils got to explore the village and the buildings that inspired many of Roald Dahl’s stories, including the library from Matilda and the orphanage from The BFG. At the museum they got to sit in his writing chair and dress up as some of his characters!
