7th Charity Rugby Dinner
When you are holding a fund raising dinner, it always helps to have a world class keynote speaker! Lochinver House was privileged to host the legendary All Black Rugby Captain, Mr Sean Fitzpatrick who joined 175 others (including boys) on Friday night. All were gathered to support Lochinver House School’s 7th biennial rugby tour of South Africa. The School has long supported two local charities, the Sethani Charity in Durban and the Gardenia Primary School in Cape Town, as well as being privileged to play local schools and development sides amidst some of the most spectacular scenery imaginable.
Sean himself recounted his own memories of touring that beautiful country and urged all involved to build new and lasting relationships and memories over the 15 days of the tour. Sean ended the evening by performing the All Black Haka in front of a spellbound dining room. Boys and adults raised the roof in appreciation – as well as raising £20,000 for the charities.
We are hugely grateful to Mr Norton and his committee for arranging such a spectacular and fun occasion and our massive thanks go to Mr Fitzpatrick for giving up his time to attend, our wonderfully supportive parents for their generosity and to the boys going on tour for being such super waiters!
